Dione calls me up to give me an update: Lone Star Inc.'s technicians checked the car from A-to-Z and could not find anything - although they know something is wrong. They contacted Mercedes-Benz Canada, and they were told to order some parts in from Germany and it might take up to 7 days before they come in.
The only thing what made me a little suspicious was the fact, that the parts had to come from Germany - it is pretty much common knowledge that the 1999 M-Class is produced in Alabama, US; perhaps they just want to buy a little more time.
There was no problem with me, waiting another week - as long as it is getting fixed.
Another 10 days later, I got the phone call, that the car is done. Curious as I am, I asked: "What was wrong?" - "A broken wire behind the headlamp".
I wondered what kind of parts they needed from Germany to fix a broken wire.. but who cares.. I got the key and there I went. Just to make sure - I drove around the circle 3 times - and I have to admit, that I was speeding - just to make sure, I don't have to leave it there again...
