Wind Deflector (in sun roof) |
| |
Being a smoker, a sun roof was
essential for me. Any sun roof has some kind of a wind deflector,
which pops up, once the roof is open. Well, Mercedes has one of
these things too, but you have to push it up.. and at speeds above
90km/h, you will have to hold it up, otherwise the noise and draft
inside the car is not acceptable. The picture above shows on the
right hand side, how far down this wind-deflector came at higher
speeds. As you can read under "All my MBs"
I had several Mercedes' in Germany, in all the one with a
sun roof I had to install an after-market wind deflector. |

Being a little
careful, I had this installed by Lone Star Inc. (Calgary), so there
was no way, that they could say, I modified the vehicle. |
 |
| |
Now I got rid of the draft and I
did not have to hold the wind deflector up, but the inner panel
which can slide under the glass sunroof started to rattle at speeds
over 60km/h. This was getting so bad, that I kept the sunroof
closed. |
