2000 ML 320

My child's car seat does not lock properly in my ML 320. The problem has to be with the car as the car seat fits properly in my other car. I requested the service centre to look into it and was basically told that either I buy a Mercedes car seat or the car seat will not fit and this is patently ridiculous as I was not told when I bought my car that I should buy everything that comes along with it or my child's safety is at stake.

I am disgusted. I bought the 320 thinking it would be a safer car for my child, but his car seat buckle has opened and he has flown across the back seat, and every time I take a turn his car seat dips all the way across the seat.

Definately buyer beware! The vehicles are beautiful but the quality and sevice definately is not there. I am in the shop every few weeks. The service department is swamped. They don't even have enough loaner cars to go around. My problems have all been covered under warranty but I have better things to do than go back and forth to the service department. I have never heard of brakes needing to be replaced at 18,000 miles. I was told that the brakes are the best in the world hand have to be replaced more often. Also that the vehicle is heavy which makes the brakes wear out. I didn't realize that I looked so stupid!!!! We have had much heavier vehicles with twice the miles and never had to replace the brakes. I have had so many problems with only 26,000 miles on the car. Never had such poor quality before. I wonder if the car will last to see 30,000 miles???? I have found a great attorney. Hopefully will have this settled before my blood pressure goes up any higher.

  MB Tech posts:

In understanding the ML one should note it was new technology
In 95 when it hit the tables. Far advanced for that time.
However the problems are advanced as well.
As in the past Mercedes had problems with other cars they built.
As production moved forward , they worked them out along the way.
I am a MB tech and would like to help If I can.
In dealer training I received a training tape I would like to pass on.
If you need one contact me.
The best advice I can give one in dealing with the dealer is
find the best tech in that shop and request him . Its the tech who
doing the work not the advisor.
I am a owner / tech in my shop and service Mercedes only.
MY 98 ML has had its own set of problems. Dont get me started...
However I was able to overcome most and enjoy my vech.
I can help from a techs side as well as dealing with MB dealers/corp
Call MB and cry cry cry the more the better.
does anybody have an oil burning problem ?
The 320 that do are now covered for 150000 miles see your dealer.
M1 oil 0-40w is step one and should be the oil you should use.
I will organize my service bulletins and post them soon.
